Todd Cerney and Zack Lyle wrote the song, while Wilbur C. Rimes handled its production.

Curb Records released the track on July 16, 2001 as the fourth single from the album and it proved to be a sleeper hit.

However, it was initially released as the soundtrack to the 2001 American romantic drama Angel Eyes.

The song slowly became a major hit, topping the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and reaching Number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100.
