The Tide Is High is a 1966 rocksteady song originally recorded by Jamaican group The Paragons, written by lead singer John Holt.
In 1980, the song became globally recognized American band Blondie’s version became a US/UK number one hit.
Furthermore, in 2002 British girl group Atomic Kitten also had a Number 1 hit with their version of the song released as the second single from their second studio album, Feels So Good; while Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall had fair success with his rendition in 2008.
