Airplanes is an alternative hip hop / rap rock song by American rapper B.o.B, from his 2010 debut studio album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray.
It features vocals from Hayley Williams who is the lead singer of American rock band Paramore.
B.o.B co-wrote the song alongside Christine Dominguez, Kinetics & One Love and the producers, Alex da Kid and DJ Frank E.
The track was released on April 13, 2010 as the third single from the album and subsequently peaked at the Number 2 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Internationally, the song topped the charts in Scotland, New Zealand, Czech Republic, Israel and the UK, also peaking within the top ten in Australia, Canada and the Republic of Ireland.
As far as certifications go, the single has garnered 6x platinum in the US, 4x platinum in Australia, 3x platinum in Canada and single platinum in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The sequel to the song, Airplanes Part 2, features American rapper Eminem, with B.o.B dishing out new verses.
