American singer and songwriter Ne-Yo recorded So Sick for his 2006 debut studio album In My Own Words.
The R&B track was produced by Norwegian music production duo Stargate who also composed the melody for the song. The song was eventually put out as the second single from the album on November 22, 2005.
So Sick had a good run with contemporary critics as it attracted loads of positive reviews from them. And, as far as charting goes, was successful on a global scale. The song topped the US Billboard Hot 100, UK Singles chart as well as European Hot 100. It also reached top ten (10) in seven (7) countries, thus making the track Ne-Yo‘s biggest hit to date.
The RIAA certified So Sick 4x platinum in the US for sales north of 4 million copies. It has also bagged gold certification in more 3 countries including the UK.
