Although we didn’t get a song this year, it looked like it had become a trend for Nigerian creativist, TY Bello to celebrate nationality by unveiling a new song every time our nation ushers in a new (or continued) administration.
In 2007, she blessed us with Greenland; a pop-influenced tune that celebrated Nigeria as a place of abundance. And so the recent event of swearing-in a new ruling democratic party with CHANGE as it’s moving slogan became aptly symbolic for a throwback as such. Hopefully, this new administration will steer us (and effectively too) back to the time when we were actually a country of plentiful.
